Haven with the Goddess?
YOU, my friend, are THE GODDESS!!!! Yes You! Have you connected with your inner goddess? Do you know what I mean? It's OK if you don't. But let's go on a little journey to explore and find your unique inner goddess. Even men have a feminine part which can provide guidance to INHABIT YOUR INNER SANCTUARY. Yes, it's true. Let's discover how to contact our Goddess Within to resource ourselves both when things get tough, and as a practice in order to strengthen our core and build resilience? I'd love for you to join me.
I am Marcia (pronounced like mar-sha). I am a guide and coach to help you Inhabit Your Inner Sanctuary, connect with your inner strength, ignite your inner sanctum and connect with your unique Goddess Within. I co-regulate with clients, friends, family, using Havening Techniques® and a variety of other nervous system regulation modalities. I’m not claiming I AM a GODDESS…I am guiding you to find your own goddess within, that authentic self, the true self, etc.
I am a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner, a Creativity & Trauma-Informed Coach, and a mentor with Dr. Aimie Apigian in her Biology of Trauma Courses through Trauma Healing Accelerated and the The Mind-Body-Biology Institute. I spent a lot of my life in a sympathetic state of either fight, flight, freeze with complex trauma including birth and early childhood attachment trauma, life-long illnesses including cancer and acute infectious hepatitis A, relational trauma, depression, panic attacks, anxiety, disordered addictive eating, intergenerational trauma and more. Havening, my work with Dr. Aimie, and a lifetime of other modalities and healers including the work of Gurdjieff, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Don Miguel Ruiz, Transcendental Meditation, Yoga, Art, Music, and our many dog and cat friends who teach me so much and have helped me regulate during times I was dissociated and depressed, lonely and terrified. I was also a member of the well known Intentional Community at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland, being mentored and coached by some wonder people. And now, I can connect with my Inner Sanctuary to flow with vitality and live with joie deVivre!
In addition to being a Certified Havening Practitioner, I have a BA in Fine Arts, a Masters in Education with a focus in online teaching and learning which I've been doing since 1997 so I'm quite skilled and experienced guiding clients and students online. I am a Certified Kindness Rock Workshop Facilitator, Flutist, Community Organizer, and lived in the Findhorn Foundation Intentional Community in Scotland where I participated in many events and activities focusing on the spiritual nature of life.

ABOUT
HAVENING TECHNIQUES®
"Havening Techniques® engages our inherent biological systems to permanently heal, strengthen and empower our minds and bodies." - Dr. Ronald Ruden, MD, PhD, Co-Founder of Havening Techniques
Havening Techniques are a psychosensory modality that generate delta brain waves, the slowest brain waves that we usually experience during sleep. These delta brain waves help to reduce cortisol, and to increase serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and oxytocin (the bonding hormone). These chemicals help to down-regulate the nervous system. With the addition of some fun brain distractions and imagination, we can create states of calm that enable us to experience ourselves more creatively and provide the opportunity for us to resolve issues that may have plagued us since forever! Havening is gentle, calming, and is often used as practice that trains us to be our own resource of resilience and to find our own SAFE HAVEN.
Havening utilizes the power of neuroplasticity to help us move beyond the traumas and wounds of our past, find more peace and relaxation in the present moment, and ultimately reclaim control over our future by helping us tap into our full potential.
Havening can result in positive changes in our brain chemistry by pruning the old neural pathways that have been keeping us in fight, flight, or freeze, and helpt us to create new neural pathways as we heal old patterns and learn new ways to support our nervous systems.
A few Q&A from the Havening.org website
What is Havening? Havening is a psychosensory technique that involves touch, attention, and imagination in order to engender healing and positive change in individuals.
How does Havening work? Havening works by triggering the delta waves in our brains through touch, attention, and imagination, which helps to discharge and alter the way traumas and negative emotions are stored.
Is Havening safe? Yes, Havening is safe and non-invasive. It's a gentle and effective technique that has been used to help people with a variety of conditions.
What conditions can be treated with Havening? Havening has been shown to be effective in treating a range of conditions including anxiety, phobias, attachment wounds, PTSD, chronic pain, and addiction.
What is the therapeutic process like with Havening? The therapeutic process with Havening involves touching palms, the face, and upper arms of the body, focusing very briefly on traumatic or negative events, and visualizing positive outcomes. Often, clients will experience a sense of relief or calmness after a Havening session.
How long does a Havening session usually last? Self-Havening sessions can bring relief or nervous system regulation in 5-7 minutes. A Havening session with a practitioner can last between 30 to 90 minutes depending on the client's needs, and goes much deeper than Self-Havening.
What are the benefits of Havening? The benefits of Havening include reduced anxiety, relief from chronic pain, improved mood and emotional wellbeing, and a greater sense of resilience and empowerment.
How many Havening sessions do I need to see results? The number of Havening sessions required will depend on the individual and the nature of their condition. Some clients may experience significant improvement after just one session, while others may require several sessions to see results.
What is self-havening and why self-havening? Self-havening is a technique where an individual can apply the Havening Touch on themselves without the need for another person. It involves stroking, arms, face or hands while focusing on a particular issue or negative emotion. Self Havening is often useful for those who are unable to access a havening practitioner or for those who want to continue their therapeutic process at home. It empowers individuals to take control of their emotional wellbeing and provides them with a tool they can use whenever they need.

RESILIENCE
Join Our Free Online Resilience Sessions
Our Nervous Systems love routine and consistency. What? You don't?
There's a part of me that doesn't either, and that's why we call this A "PRACTICE". This practice of self-havening for resilience is a part of my daily self care. And the cool thing about self-havening is that we can do it many places, and in different settings. We can use our palms to pet an animal or a soft fabric. We can rub our faces for a few moments. We can practice havening while walking, lying on the beach, before we eat, for examples. I think of this time as connecting with my Inner Goddess, some call it the still voice within, others call it spirit, authentic or true self, etc.
Denise and I invite you to join our FREE WEEKLY RESILIENCE SESSIONS that last from 15-20 minutes! We will self-haven together online. We often have an intention such as a word like gratitude. Or we may haven to a meditation. We practice iffirmations, loving kindness, music, mind distraction games, and more!
Humans are tribal. Community is a powerful way to heal, when we have boundaries and some guidelines. I am trained in holding a safe space, so come join us as we build resilience and you learn to self-haven between sessions. We have mirror neurons and co-regulate together. We don't heal in isolation.
